Win-win for Dolphins and Jets
By: SCUBA

It seems the Brett Favre coming to the New York Jets turned into a
win-win situation for the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets and Bill Parcells.
The Jets got their guy in Favre and the Miami Dolphins were able to
find an NFL player willing to play for them. One day after quarterback
Chad Pennington was cut by the New York Jets to make roster space for
Brett Favre, was signed by the Miami Dolphins.
Pennington, who was voted the NFL's comeback player of the year in
2006, will reunite with the man that brought him into the NFL eight
years ago, Bill Parcells.
Parcells, having a love for his old players, jumped at the chance to
bring a veteran QB into arguably the league's worst QB depth chart,
with Josh McCown, Chad Henne, and last year's second round draft pick
John Beck.
With the arrival of Favre in New York, Pennington a class act, has no
ill-will towards the team that made him a first round draft pick in
2000.
"I have enjoyed it, I've learned a lot, become a better professional
and a better man because of my experience and my time in New York.",
Pennington told the AP. "I don't regret or feel ashamed about anything
that happened to me in my time in New York. The most difficult part is
just the realization that the organization no longer wants you. You
spend eight years there and, in the blink of an eye, you're no longer
wanted there."
With Pennington having the chance to stay in the AFC East, it will not
be long before he gets to prove to Parcells and to his old team that
this 32 year-old QB can still play at this level. Pennington will get
his chance to beat the man that cost him his job in N.Y. when Favre and
the Jets travel to Miami for week one of the regular season.
