Cowboys deal for Williams and bury Pacman
And you thought T.O. was unhappy now.... what do think is going through T.O.'s head now after hearing on ESPN's "NFL Live" today that WR Roy Williams is the newest member of the Cowboy's receiving core?

Jerry Jones desperate for another Super Bowl title has given away the 'farm' for Roy Williams. According to ESPN, the Cowboys gave a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round draft pick to the Lions for Roy Williams.....ouch.

That move alone tells me that Jerry Jones is mortgaging the future to get another Super Bowl ring this year.

Consider this: Randy Moss was traded to the Patriots for a 4th round pick.

The timing of the trade may have had something to do with Jerry Jones' 'quick-to-pull-the-trigger' trade. 4:00 Eastern today was the NFL trade deadline. However, the news also broke earlier this morning that the Cowboy's notoriously controversial cornerback Adam (Pacman) Jones was suspended indefinitely for at least 4 games today by the commissioner Roger Goodell.

The length of this suspension is surprising considering the new Roger Goodell NFL is supposed to have the creed of "Zero Tolerance". Four games is too short, Pacman is a continuous trainwreck in the making. He should be out of the NFL.

The thought might be that Jerry Jones obviously wanted Roy Williams bad, but bad enough for a 1st, 3rd, and a 6th round draft pick?!? This trade could be looked at as if Jerry Jones got the WR he wanted. However, he got his WR at a steep enough price that will redirect the negative PR his team would have received from another Pacman related incident to "will the Cowboys get to the Super Bowl now?".

If Jerry Jones would have made this trade two weeks ago would he have had to give up so much to get Williams?

BallHype: hype it up!
Can anyone smell the desperation? The Cowboys were ordained superbowl champs in the preseason and that train derailed. Now "Jerruh" is throwing anything at the wall hoping something positive will stick. Roy Williams is a very good football player but the biggest problem in Dallas is the lack of a consistent RUNNING ATTACK. The easiest way to help Romo/Cowboys not choke in the playoffs is the pound the football on a consistent basis.

The problem with Jason Garrett is he wants to win throwing the ball but teams have figured him out. Until Garrett decides to put as much energy into his running game as the passing attack the Cowboys will continue to lose playoff games (if they make the playoffs).
Agreed. Williams is a good player, but not worth those sacrifice picks. Pacman is a disappointment, and being a fan is tough again at almost mid-season. They will make the playoffs, and like Jerry, I still have faith in a SuperBowl win....but then again, I also bet the farm that my Heels would win the NCAA Championship this past April, so what do I know?
