T.O. Spits Venom at Keyshawn Johnson
Have you ever seen a young kid throw a temper tantrum because they are
just not getting what they want? You have. We all have. For those of
you who know what I am talking about or maybe its been a while click here for an unfriendly reminder.
Lashing out at the person or persons who do not obey your needs can
result in that type of behavior, like a Tyrannosaurus Rex whipping its
tail around destroying everything left behind its wake. It's not
warranted but it is expected at a certain age for a child......not a 35
year old man.
We all know in order to keep Terrell Owens quiet/happy you have to win.
The second something goes awry, the second he senses a check in the
loss column he cries to the media. He complains about who didn't do
this or who didn't do that. When it comes to T.O. and games lost, words
of blame are thrown around like Pacman making it rain.
It started again after last Sunday's loss to the Redskins. T.O.
indirectly blamed his coach and the game-plan for not allowing him to
be more involved in the offense. “All I have said is I need more
opportunities to help this team win,” Owens said during his radio show
Tuesday night.
This is nothing new (see Keyshawn Johnson's book) or nothing out of the
ordinary (too many instances to list) for T.O. Actually it is a
legitimate concern for him to want to help his team win. If that's the
way he thinks they can win then that's OK with me.
“It’s me being confident in who I am. Its not going to be the last time
you hear me say I need the ball." T.O. also said on his radio show.
After last Sunday's loss to the Redskins T.O. has taken on a great deal
of national media attention regarding his comments about wanting the
ball more. Most notably he took criticism from ESPN NFL analyst's Chris
Carter, Tom Jackson, and Keyshawn Johnson.
However, T.O. also addressed these comments on his radio show last night, according to the Dallas Star-Telegram:
Regarding Keyshawn Johnson, whom Owens’ referred to as Sheshawn
at least three times, he said: “[As the No. 1 overall pick in the 1996
draft] he is the ultimate underachiever on that panel. I am the reason
he is in the booth. Everybody is aware when I was brought to Dallas he
was the one they let go to get me here.”
Yep.
