The Sunday That Was
Week 8 in the NFL had a little bit of everything....upsets, a game played in London, and an irate coach sending his star TE to the locker room in the middle of the game.

Tampa Bay 9 @ Dallas 13

Roy E. Williams gets his first TD as a Cowboy. Brad Johnson has a typical Johnson-like day with 122 yards passing and 1 TD. Cowboys get the win in a 'snoozer'.

Washington 25 @ Detroit 17

Cambell and Portis have big days for the Redskins. Santana Moss has a huge day with 140 yards and 1 TD receiving. Moss also takes a 80-yard punt return to the house.

Buffalo 16 @ Miami 25

Teddy Ginn Jr. finally shows up with a 175 yard receiving effort. Buffalo turns the ball over on every 4th quarter possession to give the game to the underdog Dolphins.

St. Louis 16 @ New England 23

RB Steven Jackson was inactive for the game with a 'thigh' problem. Cassel and the Patriots score games last 10 points to hold-on and beat the 'new' look Rams.

San Diego 32 @ New Orleans 37

An overseas QB shootout with both QB's putting on a show in London. Rivers had 341 yards and 3 TD's passing while Brees was not to be outdone with 339 yards and 3 TD's passing with the win.

Additional note - Saints RB Duece McAllister tested positive for a banned subtance.

Kansas City 24 @ New York Jets 28

Favre gets 'booed' by the home crowd after throwing 3 picks (should have been 4) and 1 for a TD. Jets almost lose to a lost Chiefs team. Bright spot for Chiefs - 3rd string QB Thigpen finally demonstrates that he can play in the NFL - 280 yards and 2 TD's passing.

Atlanta 14 @ Philadelphia 27

Westbrook gives disgruntled fantasy owners a brief grin after a 167 yard 2 TD performance on the ground. Westbrook is a lot like dating the 'hot' girl who is way out of your league. It's the greatest ever but you know you only have a few weeks until she figures out that you are not as charming or intelligent to her when she is sober. That is, until she dumps you, or in Westbrook's case until he gets hurt....again.

Arizona 23 @ Carolina 27

Anquan Boldin is back after a 63 yard 2 TD receiving performance. However, Steve Smith had a better day 117 yards and 2 TD receiving on the way to the win.

Oakland 10 @ Baltimore 29

Baltimore does what Baltimore does best, no offense - all defense. Joe Flacco does just enough not to lose while the Ravens 'D' shuts down the Raiders run game for 47 total yards on the ground.

Cincinnati 6 @ Houston 35

In what is Marvin Lewis' farewell tour, the Texans rout the hopeless Bengals. Matt Schaub has a near perfect day going 24/28 280 yards and 3 TD's.

Cleveland 23 @ Jacksonville 17

Cleveland finally finds a little momentum after the Monday night beating they gave to the Super Bowl champs Giants last week with another upset in Jacksonville.

New York Giants 21 @ Pittsburgh 14

Two defensively oriented teams went at it with the Giants squeezing it out in the 4th quarter. A botched long-snap over the punters head and through the back of the endzone for a safety, and a Manning TD to Boss attributed to 12 straight 4th quarter points to give the Giants their sixth win of the year.

Seattle 34 @ San Francisco 13

It what was interim head coach Mike Singletary's first game, it was what he was asked before and after the game that provided the most entertainment.

First, there was the reporter that thought Singletary had called Bill Walsh after gettin.......one problem with that - Bill Walsh is dead.

Then there was the Vernon Davis incident, where he kicked his TE off of the field. When asked about it in the post game press conference where he stated that Davis "would do a better job for us right now taking a shower and coming back and watching the game than going out on the field".

What to watch tonight - MNF
