Payton doesn't think Rando deserves ring

On a recent NBA TV analysis potential Hall-of-Famer Gary Payton threw
World Champion Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rando well under the
bus.
Payton implies that Rando did not deserve a ring basically because he
was just a 'towel waver'. The NBA TV crew compares Rando's role on the
team to that of Will Purdue and John Salley when they won their
championships from sitting on the bench. "...he got one too when he was
doing the towel [waving]", Payton said.
What's ironic is that after all of those years in the league it was
Payton that had to lobby to be a 'towel waver' to even get a sniff of a
ring. He had to chase down the Lakers and the Heat to finally get his
'bling'.
I'm sure Payton's remarks stem from the Celtics passing on signing him last year before their championship run.
