Rex Ryan has surgery for fatness, Andre and Pete make tennis interesting, and Jake Delhomme becomes a Brown
Thought #1

Apparently the Rexican diet has a down side, which along with potential cardiac arrest and lack of ability to out run zombies, includes low self esteem and some embarrassing Sports Center highlights.

The famously fat New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan underwent lap band surgery Saturday to assist him in fighting obesity. This of course comes on the heels of Rex's gut being plastered a...

Who is #1 on the Forbes list of "The 10 Most Disliked People In Sports"?
I have to admit I like 'lists'...I really like 'lists'.  It can definitely be considered a guilty pleasure.  When I heard about this list I immediately thought of who would be in my top 10....O.J., Bonds???  A few of the names matched Forbes' list, but not all.  There were definitely a few names on the Forbes' list that surprised me.  Take a look:

10.  John McEnroe  (Pct. dislike 31%)

Nothing like waiting until the last minute to sign those rookie contracts.  The Chiefs like most NFL teams are scrambling, in the final days before camp to sign their 2009 rookie's.

The Chiefs were able to sign their third-round draft pick defensive end (Purdue), Alex Magee, before heading to training camp tomorrow.

According to the Kansas City Star's website, Magee agreed to a four-year de...

Finally!
On behalf of all of us not on Planet Favre we would like to take this time to thank Brett for ending this madness. Mr. 50-50 finally made the right decision and kept his cleats in the closet. Now the NFL network and other news organizations can stop ruining the lives of reporters by having them spend time in the duldrums of Mississppi waiting for a puff of white or black smoke.
In my humble opinio...

The debacle is over....finally.  Brett Favre is staying retired.

Vikings head coach Brad Childress reported to the Minneapolis Star Tribune that Brett Favre has informed him that he will remain retired.

Favre went on to tell ESPN's Ed Werder a better explanation of why he is not coming back.  "It was the hardest decision I've ever made,'' Favre said. "I didn't feel like physically I could pl...

The NFL opens the door for Vick
After a 23-month prison sentence, in which he served 20, former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick back has been conditionally reinstated into the NFL.

It has been pretty clear up-to-this-point that Goodell would allow Vick back into the league.  What wasn't clear was when?

The NFL has suspended Vick for the first 5 weeks of the NFL and will be cleared to play in week 6 of the regular...

Timothy Watches the Watchmen
Oh the Watchmen...where to begin, where to BEGIN?  I, like most people in the civilized world was very excited about the Watchmen.  However, I was excited about it long before most people because

A. I know more about movies than the average shmuck and
B. I know my comics....to a degree.

While I knew of the Watchmen, had read parts of it, and fully understood that it was a part of TIME...

The Lebron-gets-dunked-on video.....well sort of...
The most anticipated release of a video since the Zapruder film has been released, which has been proven to be every bit of anti-climactic that I thought it might be.

Had Nike never confiscated the video in the first place there would never have been this much media-hype over an amateur video taken during a basketball camp pick-up-game.

In case you haven't heard the story....supposedly Lebron wa...
