Jake Delhomme Gets "Blindsided" With Tears

On a day when most NFL players were getting over-valued contracts, Jake Delhomme was getting the 'pink' slip.
Delhomme formerly of the Carolina Panthers was released even with $12.5 million in guaranteed money coming his way.
There were a few reasons for the release. The main reason was because he is a few years past his prime and now the Panthers believe they have a quarterback ready to take the reigns from Delhomme in Matt Moore.
Another reason for his release was because of the fact that there was no salary cap hit when dumping a large contract this year. Without a collective bargaining agreement in place, teams can dump contracts without being monetarily penalized.
Delhomme, 35-years old was a few years past his prime and just came off his worst season as a NFL starter. He ended the season with 8 TD's and 18 interceptions.
As Delhomme stated, he was "blind-sided" by the release. However, what was most surprising was how he cried so publicly over his release.
It's one thing to be emotional over leaving your home over the past 7 seasons, but it's another thing to break down in front of the people who just told you that we won't be needing your services anymore.
I mean really....whatever happened to "Never let them see you hurting"?
