Have you ever dated a really insecure person? One of those people who just constantly needs to be reassured they aren't getting left. Probably even did the whole paranoid midnight phone call thing and no doubt pulled the more than occasional pop-in visit. All that time and effort just to make sure you weren't hanging out with the pretty girl that worked at Starbucks, secretly plotting...

Do you ever watch the show Law and Order: SVU? They pretty much deal with the sketchiest of sketchy people in the world and often times you think; does this stuff really happen? Are people really this out of their minds? Are there really this many creepy freaks...

Dolphins GM's questions about a hooker, Kobe miles may be up, and the Jeff and Jimmie feud will continue

When you're considering drafting a player for your NFL franchise you have to right to find out a little about the guy. You want to know what his work ethic is like, what is football IQ is like, and you might even want to know a little about how the guy grew up. These are things you have a right to know if you are going to drop millions of dollars on a guy.

One thing you don't have t...

A Rift of championship proportions
For the last two weeks, it has been post race news that Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson are having a little bit of a rift. While there has never been much of a problem between the two drivers. But this season, it seems like the two championship drivers are spending more time racing each other hard on the track. and for the second week in a row, Jeff Gordon has had something to say about it.
While t...

Ben and the lost art of truth telling, the mediocre pizza bowl is set, and Kahne signs with Hendrick, duh
Thought #1

As Ben Roelisthberger met today with Roger Goodell and had a "very productive" meeting concerning Ben's alleged bathroom stall follies, I got to thinking about his statement yesterday. I got to thinking less about his sweet case of hockey hair and more about his commending of the Milledgeville investigation and about his promise to put his full effort into being the Steelers' QB. I ca...

1st Round NCAA Tournament thoughts and Carl Edwards drops the "bad person" bomb
Thought #1

College basketball analysts tend to look a lot like little kids at a merry-go-round this time of year. They can't decided to jump on or off, if they want to laugh or go into a crying fit, or if they want a grape or red snow cone which they no doubt throw on the ground after abut 2 minutes. Just take the Big East for example. Thursday morning they are the unshakable Goliath of college b...

Tomlinson might make the Vikings a fantasy team, Carl Edwards gets a smack on the wrist, and Jim Sorgi holds another Manning's playbook
Thought #1

The 2010 Minnesota Vikings may very well look like my 2008 fantasy football team. Reportedly LaDainian Tomlinson will visit the Vikes Thursday with the possibility of replacing former back up running back Chester Taylor on the table. Taylor, who signed with the Bears recently as put of their opening day spending spree, left some decent sized shoes to fill in Minnesota but if this work...

Nascar Slaps Edwards on the wrist
Everyone who was watching the race on Sunday got to see Carl Edwards go no more mr nice guy on Brad Kesolowski.  Even in the interview after the incident, Edwards pretty much admitted it was intentional without saying it in so many words.

After the race it was pretty much figured that NASCAR would suspend Edwards and it was easy to see why. Whether of not he intended for the car t...

For anyone interested, on Monday mornings I have a column over on my ACC blog, www.TheeSportsBlog.com.  It is not baseball related, or fantasy related, but rather ACC and more specifically the Trianlge of NC related.

The Winter Olympics are here, Amare is on the market, and Coach K isn't interested in working with the Russians
Thought #1

The Winter Olympics have snuck up on us and officially begun. This of course means you will spend the next couple weeks sitting through Sports Center highlights of bizarre sports along with being slightly overwhelmed by the abundance of people you will see in tights.

The Olympics is the sports world's version of sushi. People always try to talk me into trying sushi and it always ends...
